We're excited to introduce the Inaugural Minute Maid Park Marathon! The race will be held on Sunday, November 18, 2018, and will start at 7:00 am CST with a 6-hour cut-off time.
The race will be managed by DMSE Sports and will benefit two organizations: the Astros Foundation, the official team charity of the Houston Astros, and the Houston Marathon Foundation. The Astros Foundation supports Houston-area youth baseball and softball programs, recognizes the U.S. military, generates childhood cancer awareness, and assists with efforts toward reducing homelessness. The Houston Marathon Foundation supports the advancement of running as an element of a balanced, healthy lifestyle in the Houston community and nationally.
Because of field space constraints, the maximum number of runners will be 75. Although there is no entry fee, there is a fundraising requirement minimum of $4,000 for each participant.
Each runner will run between 112-115 laps—counted electronically (and yet to be certified)—on the warning track of Minute Maid Park. Spectators will be allowed into the park to watch the race. All participants will receive a unique race shirt and one-of-a-kind finisher’s medal… not to mention bragging rights as one of the first runners to ever run a marathon totally within Minute Maid Park!
