I’ve always felt the genius is seeing it in the seed, that is, being able to visualize something before it even ever happens. Many times we even visualize ourselves succeeding at our goal and that usually motivates us even more to drive on and believe we can accomplish anything we set our minds to.

For the better part of my entire life, I thought I was as close to invincible as was humanly possible. With all the running I have done, I thought no physical challenge was insurmountable. It took 59 years, but, a few years ago that all changed in a heartbeat.

I am a race director, but I was a runner before I was a race director, so I’m not totally the enemy. Frankly, I think of myself as a runner first and then a race director.

WHAT'S ALL THE FUSS WITH MUD THESE DAYS?

First, I must admit, I don’t know much about these M.O.B. events (aka, mud, obstacle and beer) and I have never even competed in one, but I am certainly totally fascinated by and envious of their incredible growth and the amount of interest they have generated.  My mother use to tell me when I was a little boy, that I use to eat sand…don’t ask why…so, I’m not sure why crawling around in mud doesn’t appeal to me these days.
