Legendary endurance athletes Dave McGillivray and Bob Babbitt weigh in regularly
Hyland’s Leg Cramps, the Official Cramp Relief Sponsor of the Boston Marathon, recently launched the Find Yourself, Find the Finish Line campaign to encourage athletes to strive for personal achievement. The campaign features 14 incredible female runners as they tackle adversity and prepare for Boston 2017. Assembled to support the Hyland’s team and runners everywhere is a renowned crew of experts including Dave McGillivray, Bob Babbitt, Michelle Jezycki and Mike Ehredt. These leaders from the running community will offer their insights on topics such as race day tips and staying motivated.
Guest blogger Dave McGillivray is the President of DMSE Sports, where he is responsible for race management of more than 30 major road races and charitable events, including the Boston Marathon. McGillivray became recognized as one of the premier race directors in the U.S. after organizing decades of successful races, and he was inducted into the Running USA Hall of Champions in 2005. He has completed 137 marathons, including 42 consecutive Boston Marathons and 9 Hawaii IRONMAN® triathlons.
Bob Babbitt, an icon in the triathlon community, is known for his infectious enthusiasm for racing (sometimes in an Elvis suit) and his famous podcast, Breakfast with Bob. Babbitt has been inducted into both the IRONMAN Hall of Fame and the USA Triathlon Hall of Fame. He also co-founded Competitor Magazine and the Challenged Athletes Foundation. Presently, he travels the endurance sports circuit to capture and share the best interviews available.
Michelle Jezycki is the founder of Tri the World Travel, an agency dedicated to getting people and equipment to triathlons all over the world. She is also a certified Level 1 USA Triathlon coach, an IRONMAN finisher and an accomplished marathoner. Mike Ehredt is a Level 1 USATF Certified Coach and an ultrarunner best known for Project America Run, his 2x across country traverse to honor fallen U.S. Soldiers from the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. He also spends his time training clients for their first marathon or ultra while preparing himself for a return to the Hardrock 100 ultramarathon this summer.
