Endurance Sport Leader Joins Triathlon Experts and Athletes at this Annual Northeast Season Kick Off Event
USA Triathlon (USAT) Hall of Fame Inductee and legendary race director Dave McGillivray will appear at TRI-MANIA Summit and Expo in Boston on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at MIT’s Zesiger Sports & Fitness Center. McGillivray will give a motivational presentation, “Defining Moments,” conduct the keynote interview with 2010 Ironman World Champion, Mirinda Carfrae and moderate a coaches panel and other afternoon presentations at this popular annual gathering for triathletes and endurance athletes.
McGillivray is Race Director for the B.A.A. Boston Marathon, the world’s oldest and most famous road race, as well as owner and President of Dave McGillivray Sports Enterprises, Inc. (DMSE) which has produced or consulted on over 850 mass-participatory athletic events nationally and internationally. McGillivray has deep roots in the sport of triathlon as an eight-time competitor in the Ironman World Championships (best finish: 14th); as Race Director for the Triathlon World Championships (1990), the Goodwill Games Triathlon in NYC (1998) andthe Boston Triathlon (2001-2005); and as founder of the New England Triathlon Tour. McGillivray’s contributions to triathlon were recognized by USAT, the sport’s governing body, with his election to the USAT Hall of Fame in 2011.
McGillivray will translate his extraordinary life journeys and athletic achievements into life lessons in his motivational presentation, “Defining Moments.” After his presentation, which is open to all TRI-MANIA registrants (free registration available with a click here), McGillivray will moderate the afternoon presentations which will include the TRI-MANIA keynote interview with 2010 Ironman World Champion Mirinda Carfrae to get insight on her training, racing and life as one of the world’s most successful triathletes.

The TRI-MANIA Summit and Expo (formerly known as the Multisport World Conference and Expo), is the largest pre-season event series on the east coast US, developed exclusively for triathletes and in 2013 is expected to draw more than 7,000 attendees across events in Boston, New York City and the Washington, D.C. market. TRI-MANIA Boston is developed in partnership with the USA Triathlon Northeast Regional Council and will be celebrating its 11th year as the definitive season kick-off in New England.
