Massachusetts officials have selected a company behind two of the state's first mass vaccination sites to take over the leadership of the vaccination site at the Reggie Lewis Center in Roxbury to help it grow and implement new scheduling procedures that are specific to the city.

CIC Health said the Reggie Lewis Center will become the company's third mass vaccination site when it opens for the day on Thursday.

"The site will open with capacity for 800 Pfizer vaccinations per day and ramp-up to 2,500 daily appointments within about a month. Initially, it will be open from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., seven days a week, with a plan to extend to 10-hour days within a few weeks," CIC Health wrote in a statement.

Starting this week, CIC Health said half of the COVID-19 appointments at the Reggie Lewis Center will be reserved for "priority booking of local residents by designated community partners." The site will also be adding its own direct phone bank to reach out to local residents to help book appointments, the company said.
