The New Balance Falmouth Road Race will celebrate its 47th running this year when more than 11,000 runners gather in Woods Hole on August 18, 2018. Back-of-the-pack joggers share the road with the best, forming a tapestry of colors from the start on Water Street to the finish at the beach in Falmouth Heights. The Falmouth Road Race is one of the showcase events in American distance running and a major event during the summer on Cape Cod.
The fastest race in Pittsburgh kicks off at 7 p.m., making it the city’s only nighttime downtown road race. With a variety of one-mile races for participants to choose from, there is something for the entire family. The certified, looped course starts on Penn Avenue in the heart of the Cultural District. Racers then make a turn onto 11th Street, and another quick turn onto Liberty Street for the final stretch. The start and finish lines are only a block apart, so spectators can catch both the beginning and the end—if they move quickly. After the masses finish, runners and spectators can watch the pro athletes battle it out for a hefty purse.
The 59th running of the “Run to the Clouds” event will take place on June 15, 2019. The historic all-uphill run draws thousands of runners from across New England, throughout the U.S., and from countries as close as Canada and as far away as Kenya, to make the grueling climb to the summit of the highest peak in the Northeast.
